US President Donald Trump will apply the import taxes to Mexico to use finance the construction of the separation wall along the US-Mexico border, said White House spokesman.
The plan was announced after the Mexican president canceled his visit to Washington, amid a dispute triggered by the question of who will finance the construction of the wall.
But shortly after revealing it, the White House said that the application of import duties on Mexican was just one option.
Wednesday, Trump signed a decree construction of a wall that can reach 2,000 miles at a cost of billions of dollars, the costs will be reimbursed by the Mexican government.
In the election campaign, he had said that the cost to build a wall on the border will be borne by Mexico.
The cost to build a wall on the border with Mexico, according to Trump, reached around Rp106 trillion, but some people believe the cost may be twice as large.
But the President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto refuse will finance the construction of the wall. "I have repeatedly said, Mexico will not fund any wall," he said.
And on Thursday, Enrique Pena Nieto said it had canceled a planned visit to Washington next week to meet Donald Trump, based on suggestions Trump himself.
"We have informed the White House that I would not attend a planned meeting," as written President Nieto on Twitter.

Not long after Nieto refused to finance the construction of the wall, Trump said. "If Mexico does not want to honor the US fair, the meeting will be in vain and I'll take another road," said Trump.
White House spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters that the president has discussed a proposal on funding the construction of the separation dnding with MPs.
In that talk, when applied to import duties of 20% to Mexico it could raise tax revenues of about US $ 10 billion per year, which could be used to finance the wall.
